Classes – Cooking or Yoga!

Cynthia’s offers cooking classes – private and public.   Private classes may be held in your home with a group of friends and/or family.  Let Cynthia help you create a “Theme” cooking class and make it an evening of food and fun! 

Cynthia’s also offers public cooking classes from time to time and will be posting these events – so stay tuned. 

Cynthia currently writes a cooking column for the online newspaper – San Juan Islander which features her current and past columns for your reference.

A selection of classes offered by Cynthia’s include:

  • Wrap and Roll – Cynthia’s will take the mystique out of Sushi Rolls and Spring Rolls
  • Puff Pastry Creations –become skilled at creating sweet and savory pastry from the delicate and buttery puff pastry –from appetizers to dessert
  • Gluten Free Cooking and Information – From cooking and baking grain free to finding the best gluten free products and recipes – an informative class
  • Sugar-Free but Fruit Sweet – learn the secrets and tricks of cooking with healthy alternative sweeteners and reducing sugar in your daily meals
  • The Joy of Soy – discover the joy of cooking with soybeans, tofu and tempeh products
  • One Bowl Meals – hearty and healthy meals for the busy cook
  • Young Adult Cooking Classes – ages 11 & up -gather your friends for a night of cooking fun.  Cynthia will assist you in crafting a class for you and your friends – Learn to create healthy meals choosing from the basic class or make it a theme evening with -A Pizza Night, Elegant Dinner, Sunday Brunch or Appetizer night.
  • Children’s Cooking Class – ages 7 – 10 – learn the basics of the kitchen and discover how to make healthy snacks, mini meals or desserts.
  • Island Meals – a night of wonderful food focusing on all that is offered throughout the San Juan Islands from the local produce, livestock, poultry and dairy farmers, bakers and fisherman.  – Enjoy with Local wines for a authentic treat.
  • YOGA and a Meal – Cynthia also is known for her years of teaching yoga on the island and one of her favorite classes is YOGA and a Meal – If you have a nice space for 4 – 6 yoga mats, you should consider this class.  Cynthia arrives with a healthy meal prepared and places it in your oven to keep warm and or your fridge to keep cool.  An hour (plus) yoga class is then taught to you and your guests and while you are in relaxation pose, Cynthia will set out your dinner for you to enjoy.  This makes for a wonderful and memorable evening with friends.
